Please help - bleeding and clots but not a miscarriage

Has anyone had some bleeding and passed some clots where this hasn't been a miscarriage?

Firstly how far along are you? How long have you been bleeding for? Is it bright red? Lots or a little? Do you have any pain too? It is possible to bleed and not miscarry but impossible for people to know which way it will go. Try and not panic easier said than doneI know

About 7 weeks. Had an internal scan on Friday and saw heartbeat. A bit of cramping. Bleeding on and off since yesterday afternoon - not a huge amount and mainly when I wipe but it is red.

Yes had on and off bleeding between 10 and 16 weeks with DS3 (now 2). Not much clotting, mainly small amount of blood. It wasn't very different when I previously had a mmc, unfortunately you just need to wait and see what happens.

I has lots of bleeding (and clots) for the first 16 weeks of my pregnancy. I was in and out of EPU like a yoyo. It was extremely worrying, I dreaded going to the toilet. On one of my many scans, they could see where the bleed was coming from and it was my cervix. Why I was bleeding they never got to the bottom of and why it suddenly stopped at 16 weeks they weren't sure. I went to EPU every time and they scanned me each time, which was reassuring.

They assured me bleeding in pregnancy was very common and the main thing to keep an eye out for was if I had pain to call my midwife, but I never had pain with it.

My DS is now 2.3years!

I know you are worried, I've been there, but try not to be, you've seen the heartbeat. It may happen more, call your midwife each time and they may advise you go to EPU.

Yes. I had a sub chorionic haematoma and bled from about 11 weeks to 22 weeks to varying degrees. Ranged from bright red blood pouring out of me with large clots to thin watery brown old blood :(

Similar to wheresmycaffeinedrip - it was a bruise behind the placenta causing red and brown bleeding. Ds is 8 now! Hope it turns out to be something like this for you. Mine were always worse after scans

I found that to
merci they pressed so hard I was always telling them to stop it was hurting. I could feel the blood pouring as they did them :(

I have bled loads in both pregnancies but never found the cause of it. It has mainly been bright or dark red bleeding with some clots. For me it actually seems a symptom of pregnancy. In fact this time I started bleeding at 3 weeks and did a test when I was 5+5 thinking the bleeding could mean I was pregnant. The gp thought I was mad but I was right!

It is possible for the baby to be fine, but unfortunately we seem to hear a lot of negative outcomes too. So make sure you look after yourself and call the mw/gp/epu if you need to.

Thanks for all your responses. Had another internal scan today and everything was where it should be and had grown since scan on Friday. They couldn't find a heartbeat today but said that the scanner in gynae is not as sensitive as the one in EPU so waiting until Wednesday for another scan.

Really hope everything is ok for u!!!! I know first hand how terrifying all this can be but there is always hope! I will be thinking of u :)

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and 2 days ago after sex I went to the toilet and when I wiped I noticed some blood, I saw a doctor who said my cervix was still closed and everything looked normal etc but the bleeding got a little more heavier through out the day, like a period but with no pain or no cramps. I went to A&E where they done some blood tests which said I was still pregnant... I was also referred for an internal scan but they couldn't find anything (too soon) but I've been told to return in 48 hours for some more blood tests and a scan...can't help but worry!!! Anyone else experienced anything like that! I'm scared something will go wrong!

Hiya all just wanting a bit of advice I had a baby six months ago and found out I am pregnant again took a test on the 4/7/18 It came up with a faint line so did a digital one and said I am 1-2 week booked an appointment with midwife last week took my bloods urine test all was great ..... then I started to have a light bleed on Monday so called EPU and they made me an appointment yesterday to go for a scan by then the bleeding got bad and had clots the did an abdominal scan with only showed a bit so did a vaginal scan it showed only a York sac the at was empty and no double ring around it they seemed to think I was about 8week from my last period but they where so irregular because i was on the pillbut it does not match up with the digital test I think I'm about 4 weeks anyways they did a blood test after and I got the results today they said my hormone levels are love bit about right for the size of the sac for how many weeks it looks I have to go back tomoz to see if my levels have increased a fear that I may have had a misscarrage because I still have the bleeding with some clots bit no pain just a few cramps here and there nothing major n no pain relief needed has anyone else experience this I am so scared ( sorry for the long winded post ) 😉
