Please please please help me

I'm going out of my mind with worry!
I can't sleep and I'm loosing the plot googling things on the web.

I have a confirmed pregnancy, but my hcl levels were only at 110 on thursday, I was referred to the hospital for another test this morning at it has risen but only to 169.
I'm scared something bad is going to happen maybe ectopic or I will mc.

I have read the at my stage hcg levels can start from 18 but go into 1000's, what the heck is going on with me?
I had some cramping a week ago nearly every day in the morning but no bleeding or anything else that has stopped all together now though.

I had hardly any symptoms and I had a anti d with my last pregnancy do I need another now so my body doesn't reject this pregnancy?

Anything I can do, anyone had a pregnancy like this, has anyone had a baby full term or am I going to loose it soon

Thank you

xxxx

I believe your hcg levels are meant to double or thereabouts every 48 hours. However, only a doctor can tell you if everything is ok. Hcg levels alone are not conclusive. Check out this link - v helpful.

I had this problem my hormone levels were not doubling every 48 hours like they should and were only 78 at 4 weeks preg, they continued to dwindle for 2 weeks and when I was 6 weeks I had a scan an there she was wriggling away, midwife told me everyone's body is different and sometimes we pay to much attention to science just let nature take its course as at such a early stage the worry and stress your feeling isn't good for you or bean. Thank you bunty i have to go back to the hospital on Monday for more blood tests im so scared :(

And Clare should I stick to my guns and hold out a little longer if they say they want to end my pregnancy.

I've read that some women where told it wasnt a good pregnancy and books in to terminate but then they made them check a us and proved the doctors wrong like you did.

I feel no symptoms of pregnancy now. i did a little at the start but now I've woke up feeling nothing no sore breasts or sickness or anything :(

I'm 28 weeks and had no symptoms for most of my pregnancy - not feeling sick and no breast pain is pretty meaningless imho and I'd want an ultrasound in your shoes - good luck x

motherOfOne27 · 15/07/2012 20:56

fluffy did you have low levels of hormones too? And congrats btw :)

I would love to see a success story that comes from having as low levels as mine if possible :/

I wouldn't have thought they would advise on the viability of your pregnancy without at least one ultrasound scan. I'm sure everyone is different, re levels of hormones so that on its own doesn't necessarily mean bad news.

Fingers crossed for you & stop googling x

HappyLittleLady · 15/07/2012 23:01

They will continue to monitor your levels as long as they are rising and not dipping, when they get between 1000 and 2000 they will scan you if they are worried at all. I know it's hard but try not to worry, mine were very low at first in this pregnancy and I was worried too as i have had 2 mc's recently, but I was actually a week behind what my dates made me so that was why. Good luck and I have my fingers crossed for you x

rogersmellyonthetelly · 16/07/2012 08:36

If it doubles in under 96 hours you are still in with a chance. 48-72 hours for doubling is considered optimal I believe. Even if it's not doubling in 96 hours, this isn't necessarily a miscarriage, sometimes a vanishing twin can cause a lower number on a second reading that then is fine on the next test.

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 16/07/2012 09:25

Thanks mother - I never had my levels tested so I've no idea. Either way it didn't mean there was a problem :)

woody17 · 16/07/2012 09:38

Hope it all goes ok today motherofone

batteryhen · 16/07/2012 10:44

When I was 4-5 weeks pg my hcg levels were 58. Then 48 hours later were 85. I drove myself out of my mind with worry. I am now 35 weeks pg :) Some babies are just slow to get going :) xx

motherOfOne27 · 16/07/2012 12:25

So today I woke up...
Drive to the hospital the started with cramps and a hot flush panicked and started crying thinking I was bleeding.
I got into the hospital then checked but no blood and cramps disappeared,
Shaking like a leaf I saw my nurse who was lovely and took some more blood and calmly told me to look after myself and it maybr a natural miscarriage but only time will tell.

I waited around for a bit to gather my thoughts and I asked other half to come up as I was in bits, he left work and kindly offered support I've been waiting so long for. he seemed really upset that I was possibly misscarrying and told me he's coming to term with being a father now.

We were both in shock I think but went home and waited for my blood results, I've just got them back and they have increased a little I think the nurse said 225? Can't remember my head is fried!!
I don't know what that means though, the nurse if going to consult with a doctor and ring me back with plan of action.

Fingers and toes crossed all is ok and not growing in the wrong place
thank you for the support ladies and I still have some hope now

I've had another chat with the nurse and said more blood tests on Wednesday Im afraid.

And it could just be a blip and i may have a decline in numbers soon.
I think they are just waiting for me to misscarry and that's it. no scans offered yet possible ectopic again mentioned and if Im right that needs to be caught asap so not to damage my tubes

again only time will tell so it seems, wish i was private then i could ask for a scan

Why do they think you will miscarry?? Is it soley based on your HCG? If so that is a crap reason. Your numbers are higher than mine ever were!

Try this link : hcg calculator

Your HCG doesn't have to double every 48 hours, I think they like to see a 60% rise or more. I am very cross you are being made to worry like this!!

motherOfOne27 · 17/07/2012 13:18

batterhen yes the nurse said my numbers are really low, I should be over 5 weeks after all and she said they should be in their thousands.
I don't know what to think yet, I had another blood test on Monday and although they gone up I was told it could be a natural miscarriage and the numbers could just be a 'blip' so more tests tomorrow.

Is there anything else I can do or ask for other then my blood being taken every two days?
I don't have symptoms of pregnancy this time round, no sickness or sore boobs!
I do feel tired though I guess and I've been hungrier then normal but still my beta results are low so maybe thats why I don't have any sickness yet xxx

rogersmellyonthetelly · 17/07/2012 13:28

Hmm. Whatever the outcome, I think they are absolutely right to keep doing blood tests until you know one way or another. Slow rising hcg can be a sign of an ectopic, but can also be a baby not implanted properly or even a slow starter. Praying for a good outcome for you or at least, a swift resolution x

motherOfOne27 · 17/07/2012 13:33

thank you rodger
I still feel hopeful and fingers crossed they will be high enough to scan soon and not reduce :/

batteryhen · 17/07/2012 19:07

Hmmm. My number at 5 weeks was 158. After that they decided not to do anymore as they were going in the right direction. I was terrified of an ectopic too, but just made myself aware of the signs etc of an ectopic. I would keep going for blood tests too. They won't scan you yet as there will be nothing to see. However, in a week you should at least be able to see a foetal sac in the right place!

Don't give up - it's not over until someone says definitley and medically that it is!!

motherOfOne27 · 17/07/2012 20:13

batteryhen I think it's just the rate its going up and that its not doubling every 2 days thats the worry. I do have fingers crossed and I'm still taking my folic acid and eating fruit etc to keep it growing healthy.

The nerves are kicking in again now, and I wish my OH was here to give me some comfort but he's freaked out again and vanished.
Eveything crossed for tomorrow, I just want to start to enjoy my pregnancy and start looking forward to my 12 week scan xxx

OP posts:
batteryhen · 17/07/2012 20:28

Mine weren't doubling either. I hope the next weeks speed by for you :) x

EmptyCrispPackets · 17/07/2012 20:31

I think mine were just over 1000 at 4 Weeks.

What do you mean he's freaked out and disappeared? Poor you Sad

motherOfOne27 · 17/07/2012 20:58

emptyCrispPackets thats what the doctor said she expected to see but I've realised they can change from person to person but I've also used a HCG
calculator and it does look like my rate of increase is lower then normal :/
And yes my OH sent me a lovely text this morning to say he'll be there for the baby although he doesn't want it but not for me and it's over.

We're no kids we knew what was going to happen and he's panicked and split, just when I thought things were ok again (after the shock of finding out i'm pregnant)
It's not ideal to go it alone I love him a lot and we've been together 3 years but I have to ignore all that drama for now and think about my baby

oh can I add....
It sounds silly but, I now have sore boobs! :)
For someone who is worrying about no symptoms I'm kind of glad they ache lol

So found out im having a mc. they want to scan tomorrow to check my tubes.
Funny him they mentioned i could have have the mc last month as i started bleeding a week early then my period and it started off brown which its never done before. i never mentioned it to anyone as its unpleasant but i thought i should for anyone who is in the same boat
my boobs are getting bigger too so worried Its about to start soon.
My bf dumped me and left me throughout the whole process so im grieving my baby and him too i feel like sh*t tbh.

I could cry and cry and cry and all i want is a hug from him but he's cut me out
