Stupid question about feeling movements

Im 18.5 weeks with my first baby, and have been feeling regular, distinct movements for a week or so now, getting stronger & more unmistakeable every day.
But have I? Everything I read seems to say that clear movements are felt a bit further along, maybe 20-22 weeks? So have I got wind? Or is my baby just genuinely active?!!

sounds about the right time to me

I was feeling things around then and put it down to wind!
It wasn't until my 20 week scan that I realised that that's where his feet were and they weren't just windy rumblings!

Its probably baby and not wind. I felt mine at 18 weeks and she's my first :) You just know when you feel a definite movement and its amazing xx

I was 16+3 at my first scan with my first child and it confirmed what I had thought were movements were in fact where her feet were. It continued to feel the same just got stronger and more frequent.

I'm 19+5 with DC2 and the movements are completely unmistakable. I can even see the kicks now and DP has been able to feel them since 18 weeks.

Okay, thankyou everyone, that's good to know. I'll stop accusing the baby of being wind now, and enjoy the little squirms and fluttersSmile

My DD started moving about then but it was so fluttery I put it down to wind at first. Not sure which it was tbh as everyone was telling me it was too early. At my 20 wk scan she was hiccuping and 'jumping' about all over the shop!

As I got later and later in pg she was going crazy, stretching and somersaulting. When I was sitting at my desk at work she'd push against the desk (almost in protest at being squished) and in the last few weeks I would watch 'waves' across my belly as she swivelled and did little head spins. Very surreal but very lovely. I really miss my bump :-( but it's so lovely having her here in person.

At 9mo she still does not stay still for one second!!

My DD was crazy inside too Button. It sometimes made me feel a bit squeamish seeing these weird shapes I never knew it would be possible for my belly to make. This child seems like it might be the same and I'm planning to film it one day as you forget so quickly what these things are like when pregnant!

yeh, I felt it around that time too... I thought it was some kinda weird twitch at first Grin and then figured it out.

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2012 11:06

I've been getting strong movements in my bladder area for several weeks. At my 20w scan on Friday, that's where his head is! Also my first :)

I felt my first at 16w and second at 14w, so sounds about right to me. Everyone is different though, my dsis is pregnant with her first at the moment and she only felt movement at. 23w
