have been having these crampy pains for a couple of days, they seem quite painful. Is it normal or should I ring my midwife?

if they're painful at all, you should get checked out by midwife. Its prob nothing to worry about but if its the start of early labour they will need to know asap so they can try and stop it for a few weeks.
usually they say if you have more than 4 an hour you should be seen.

I've been having them since 6 weeks! 32 weeks is very normal I'd say.

I had them for weeks before I gave birth.
Terribly painful - I was in right state.
I can't rell you how early is o.k. though - not sure if 32 weeks is too early or not.
Sorry.
You will have to check with hv.
Just wasn't to post and offer my support , because I was the same - so totally understand.

I had quite painful BH contractions for quite a few weeks before DS3 was born (had them in other pgs too, but not painful).

But DS3 didn't arrive until his due date.

Nonetheless I think as with all things in pregnancy, if you are in any doubt, contact your midwfe and get it checked out.

You could have them on and off right up to labour-mime started at 28 weeks and had 3 false alarms going to labour ward.

i was quite often i tears with them from about 25 weeks on. some women just get them more severly than others. if your worried though you should still go to the midwife/gp and reassure yourself nothings wrong, never hurts to be sure

Also had them for weeks before - did a school assembly at 33 weeks clutching the piano for support! Went to maternity unit who told me was normal but to keep an eye on other signs. Do not know what these are as had a c-section at 38 weeks but sure someone else does!

I started BH at 30 weeks and was told quite normal but if they are really bad check with your mw for reassurance.
