Urgh.

I don't remember the insomnia starting this early last time Angry

I'm 22 weeks and pretty sure that it's not my bump keeping me awake yet, I just can't sleep!

If I'm not too hot/cold/hungry/uncomfortable, I'm having really annoying half-asleep dreams that have me tossing and turning all night.

Any advice??? I'm reeeeeally tired Sad

I feel your pain and I've no pregnancy excuse.

I did start to suffer insomnia whilst pregnant though. It was whilst Desperate Midwives was on and I used to watch it all night scaring myself silly!

I suffer from insomnia terribly at times now. Hence having just got out of the bath at this hour. I made the cardinal error of falling asleep on the sofa at half 8. Hot bath has just made me feel sick though which is not likely to help!

At first I found naming countries alphabetically in my head really worked. I never got far past E or F! Don't know if that might help distract you from feeling uncomfortable.

Omg I feel your pain, DD2 is 8 weeks old now and I'm getting more sleep now than I did whilst I was pregnant
No matter what time I went to bed I'd wake up at 2am then couldn't get back to sleep
Thank god for my iPhone that's all I can say, I used to do my weekly shopping, have baths, read books and everything during the night... Hope it gets better for you Smile

I have started sleeping through again but am now having really peculiar dreams every night. I couldn't sleep more than 3 hours at a time between 12 and 18 weeks. I used to take a fairly boring book, crisps and a torch to bed with me. When I woke, I would read myself back to sleep by torchlight, then wake up again a few hours later with the torch batteries low and the sheets covered in crumbs. It happened a few times each night.

I had insomnia from 6 weeks with DD. 2 hours sleep a night on a good night. Was utter hell.

Luckily GP, MW, and consultant I saw for other pg stuff all said I could safely take an antihistamine (hayfever) tablet once a week or so to knock me out for a few hours. They stopped working by about 32 weeks, but without them I would have gone mad!

Some folk recommended pregnancy self hypnosis too. Didn't work for me, but worth a try!

And fwiw, DD is 1 month old, and I have felt so much more rested amd got more sleep than I ever did in pregnancy!

I seem to be able to sleep well for a few nights and not at all for the next few nights. On the nights when I can't sleep, there will be one tune (usually from an ad) going round and round in my head for hours til it almost drives me insane. It's horrible Blush
