Pregnant after ectopic

Hi there,

I posted a thread here last year, as I was newly pregnant and unable to cope with the enormity of it. Sadly I ended up having an ectopic, and had my right Fallopian tube removed as a result. Everyone on here who responded to my posts during and after that time were so kind, and I haven't forgotten that.

I was beginning to accept that i may never conceive naturally. Imagine my shock when discovering in Saturday that my test cane up positive! Just 1-2 weeks. Anyway this time I feel much calmer, but worried about everything until I get my 6 week scan on the 23rd. It seems ages away!

The thing is, I don't seem to have many symptoms. I am getting cramps, like period pains. Is that normal? Also, I am hungry a lot. Maybe that's a good sign! My last question is that I am coming down with a cold, I'm afraid to take any medicine. Should I be avoiding anything?

Sorry for being so clueless. I know I'll get all this info from the midwife, but because it's so early, I haven't spoken to anyone.

Hope you can help! X

hiya. the cramps thing... im still getting them at 15wks... think they will happen throughout if things are growing moving and rearranging.. just think your stomach and things are going to end up in a weird place rib-ish area by the time you going to give birth so ur going to feel some discomfort... i was annoyed to discover this cos i was excited at the prospect of no periods or pain for months.... imagine my dissapointment!

i also came down with cold a lot of people do i just struggled through with paracetmol and honey lemon drink x

Congrats Bean!

The aching/pulling/cramping is all normal in early pg. It's your 'little bean' attaching. It will go on for another couple of months or so, on and off. It shouldn't be painful per se. Just like a mild period cramp.

With your cold - drink lots of water. Paracetamol is best option if you need to take anything. Unfortunately lemsip and anything with ibuprofen is a no-no. Ask advice from your pharmacist.

Ooooo...how exciting!!!
