When baby arrives I plan to put vests under her babygrows in hospital, is this a) correct & b) practical?

Also, shall I use long or short sleeved? :S
What kind of outfit did you use for going home in? I'm due September?

Thanks guys

yes I used vests under sleepsuits. I used short sleeved ones. You could just take your baby home in a vest, sleepsuit and a jacket/coat. I wouldnt have though you would need a snowsuit as it shouldnt be too cold (hopefully) in September

Thanks, do I need to take bibs?

Also what did you wear home? Would leggings or big baggy jeans or general maternity clothes work? I'd like to look semi presentable Smile

I wore cheap stretchy maternity trousers and a maternity/nursing top, both in black. Was July though!

Yep, short-sleeved vest under sleepsuit is your standard little baby outfit. Add cardigan/coat/bootees/hat as appropriate.

Wouldn't bother with bibs, unless you're bottle-feeding.

Don't get long sleeved vests as its a right faff to get their little arms in them Smile

It'll depend on the temperature in hospital. Dd3 was hot in a sleep suit without a vest.

I breastfed my DS and needed loads of bibs! We were given a few but really you don't know if your baby will be one that is sick a lot or not at all. Muslin cloths are also very useful - we had about 40 of these!

Baby outfit is spot on, we were only in hospital overnight but DS got through all 3 outfits I had packed (from being sick a lot!).

I just wore what I had walked through the door in - maternity jogging bottoms (so comfortable), maternity t-shirt - new pants and socks though! You still look pregnant immediately after the birth, it takes a few weeks to become non-pregnant looking.
