37+2 Baby kicking becoming painful

Since baby started engaging (3/5ths now) it has given him more room. His Dad is very tall (6'4") and feels like baby has inherited his long legs. The extra room at the top since engaging is giving him more room to get strength behind the kicks. It's now starting to feel bruised inside and it has bought me almost to tears.

Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to calm this? This is my DC1. I've had a really easy pregnancy so far and it's making me want the end to happen quickly!

Hi yes I think so. I was told 3/5ths engaged yesterday (37 plus 5) and mow commented I looked uncomfy. I said "no no" but overnight, I had the most uncomfortable night as if baby lodged to one side, pubic pain, bladder pain you name it. I feel shattered as well! I was going to the loo every hour but cumulatively should have had enough. Thankfully I only have a week to go. This is my third child and had similar uncomfortable time with no 2.

Thanks, all the info seems to say that baby has less space at this stage so should be moving less. Will try not to worry...
