Hi all!!! my husband got tickets to see farnborough air show in this weekend. I am 30 weeks pregnant and just want to find whether it is safe for me to go there as I am concern about the high sounds.

I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be safe.

I am sure you will be fine.

As long as you're not one of the fast jet pilots then I'm sure you'll be fine!

I've typed and deleted several replies, because I remembered you don't always think straight when you are pregnant.

In a word, yes. The chances of the noise of aircraft at Farnborough, or indeed any air show or even airport, causing you trouble of any kind are so miniscule that you would probably make the front page of the Daily Mail if anything other than 'Pregnant Woman Goes To Air Show And Absolutely Nothing Happened' could be put on the cover. What do you actually imagine could happen?

It is far more risky to the pilots - a workmate of mine was killed last week displaying at an air show. I worked with big jet simulators till I was 39 weeks, and the project I worked on was started by other pregnant pilots, many of whom worked at air shows through their pregnancies.

I'm not even going to speculate about all the people who live under flight paths.

We live very close and have safely had 3 DCs, actually I was probably more at risk by leaping out of the house constantly to see whatever was roaring overhead Grin
Have a good time!

Ok, finally time for me to hide the pregnancy topic I think.

I live here, its fine! Noisy but will be fine. My 2 yr old hates it though and has ear defenders as his best friend at the moment! I have 30 days to go before I have baby, hopefully the noise will get labour going, lol!
