Is it just that the symptoms are worse for the woman or is it dangerous for the baby too?

Why is it so important to avoid raw eggs? Of you do get salmonella is it obvious and how soon do the symptoms appear?

Thanks for the info!

I think salmonella is not dangerous for the baby, just very nasty for you. However I have also heard that salmonella barely exists in British eggs anymore -- eggs in a box with the lion stamp (most eggs you can buy in the UK) are from hens that have been vaccinated. Frankly if I found myself wanting a soft egg, I would have one, but just at the moment they seem like a revolting idea..
