Hi I am really worried I have had a miscariage or if it is still threatening to happen. I am 12 weeks but went to and e over a week ago (sunday 1st july) because i had cramping and bleeding. After a wait I was seen by a doctor who tolD me that bleeding can be normal in pregnancy and that unless the bleeding was like a tap running not to return to the hospital. She said she would phone EPAU and get them to call me on monday as the scanning department wasn't open at wekends. I left feeling a bit better but still worried. I visited my gp the next day as I had to have a blood test and told him about what had happened and that the bleeding was a little haeavier but no large clots passed. He was very matter of fact and gave me a prescription for co didamol and said to wait and see what happens and what will be will be but that i should rest. That night (Monday ) had horrendous cramps and bleeding was heavier. It lasteda couple of hours and then the pain subsided. I have continued to bleed and have some cramping but it has gradually decreased. I phoned EAPU but they had no record of my referral and that tuesday is earlest i can have a scan ( tomorrow) I have been in limbo for the last week and am wondering what the outcome will be tomorrow. Is it possible that I have miscarried or is there a possibility i am still pregnant Feeling really anxious and wondered if anyone has had a similar experience? I am going out of my mind waiting and wondering !

hi i have heard some very postive stories from people on here that have had similar experiences to you. so i would try to stay calm until the scan it might not be bad news.

Thanks cartoonface I know I need to stay positive and calm and hope that maybe everything will be okay tomorrow.

I have heard lots of positive stories as well. I really hope that everything goes ok tomorrow. It does seem that bleeding etc is far more common in pregnancy that I ever realised. Will be thinking of you.

Unfortunately the scan showed I had miscarried. I have had bloods taken and will need to go back on Thursday to have more taken to check HCG levels. I t looks like everything has gone so hopefully wont need any medical intervention. I knew deep down that it was over but was secretly hoping I was wrong. Feelm okay one minute then just burst into tears. I just hope that I havent lesft it too late as I am 38 and time isnt on my side. Thanks for your advice everyone

So sorry for your loss - I've m/c too. But I had my baby when nearly 38 so I wouldn't write yourself off just yet.
Be kind to yourself and take it easy xx

So sorry peony. I don't think 38 is that old at all. My SIL fell pg naturally and had a healthy DS when she was 42!

I am in limbo at the moment as I don't know if a m/c is imminent or not (probably more likely than not) so i know how you feel. I don't know what's worse really, the not knowing or the finality of it all once you know the baby is gone.

I feel for you - take it easy and take some time out with your DH/DP to recover... at least you can have a Wine now - I would love to down a large glass or two but can't until we know either way.

XX

So sorry curlyLJ that you are in limbo I think the not knowing was the worst part as i was anxious all the time at least now I know I can start to move on. Hope you have a better outcome xx
Cartoon face - I was sure I would need some medical intervention and am relieved I havent had to go through an operation aswell. I hope you are feeling okay now, i cant beleive how often this seems to happen. Take care of yourself xx
