I have a growth scan on Thursday as my last baby was alot bigger than my previous 3 babies and he got a bit stuck on his way out!

Will they suggest anything if they turn artound on Thursday and think its going to be another bigger sized baby, or will they just leave me to go full term????

Never experienced this before!

Are you under consultant-led care? If so, they will use your scan result to discuss your options. Those are probably along the lines of:

  • Vaginal birth with planned intervention if things look like they're going the same way as your last delivery.
  • Induction on your due date if things haven't got started on their own by then.
  • Early induction around 38 weeks.
  • ELCS

Your consultant will knows all the ins and outs of your specific case though so will be able to advise on the best option for you.

I have consultant led care because of the shoulder dystocia last time and also because this is pregnancy number 5.

I have an appointment with the consultant straight after I have had my scan.

Thank you, just wanted to know what might be suggested.
