I've just had a BFP (yeah!) and want to start multivit/folic acid tablets ASAP. I have a ton of Pregaday pills left over from my last pregnancy. These also contain iron (100mg), so I wanted to show them to the doc to see if they are OK to take now, but appointment has been rescheduled to Friday - arhh! Any advice from someone in the know?

Is there a BB date on them? How long ago was your last pregnancy?

Good thinking: they expire 04/2013 so are in date.

Is 100mgs a lot of iron to be taking daily?

I'm sure they're fine. The only vit you have to watch out for taking too much of is vit A. For anything else, if you take too much your body will just excrete it so it's not dangerous.

Not recommend you take them in the first trimester as not enough folic acid - Pregaday If you want to use them up perhaps you could add in something with 50mg of folic acid?

Thanks for the info DublinMammy. I may as well wait for the 2nd tri and buy some specific ones for the 1st. They don't include other vits either do they. Oh well...
