Anyone else ridiculously clumsy and keep bumping into things?

At least once a day I have forgotten about my bump and misjudged a small gap/ walked into something! Reassuring myself that the baby is well protected in there but getting rather annoyed with myself.

The latest bump bump has been walking into the bed knob! Is this just me? Or are there other clumsies out there too? (come on, show yourselves so I don't feel like such a bad host)

I'm dyspraxic so am pretty clumsy anyway, and my bump gets minor knocks fairly regularly. I don't think I am any more clumsy now that I am pregnant, but did notice years ago that I was much clumsier when feeling pre-menstrual. Perhaps hormones have something to do with it, in which case it would make sense that pregnancy hormones could affect your judgement.

You're right, the bump is well protected. You are not a bad host!

yup, i am covered in bruises! Baby will be fine in there from the odd minor knock, dont worry :)

TheBigRazzoo · 09/07/2012 09:22

Yup - I got wedged in between and wall and a pillar in a pub the other day which was embarrassing and if there is anything on the floor I trip over it.

Mothpop · 09/07/2012 16:02

I'm 37 weeks and would have thought I'd gave got used to my increased turning circle annoy now but not a day goes by that I misjudge how wide I am! I've managed to achieve a few superficial grazes on my bump but fortunately have otherwise been unscathed! I can't wait to be a 'normal' sized/shaped person once again!!!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 09/07/2012 16:04

Omg yes! I keep forgetting it's there and bashing it on the kitchen worksurface or chairs or whatever! It just grows so fast, I forget!

elizaregina · 09/07/2012 16:05

yes!!!!

whysoserious · 09/07/2012 16:38

I'm glad I'm not the only one. And I'm only 23 weeks with a fairly small bump so god knows how I'll cope towards the end! Blush

Yup, I do this too.

Infact I ironed my bump the other day.

I'm praying I will be more careful with the actual baby!!

ItsMyLastOne · 09/07/2012 20:34

I have a small bump as I'm only 19 weeks but I'm bashing into things already. The one thing I keep doing is standing too close to the swing when pushing my DD. I do it, then move away, then a few seconds later I do it again, and then again the following day... I think I might just be an idiot! Blush

Yes! I misjudge gaps with bump , trip and drop stuff at the time at the moment

HelenHen · 13/07/2012 11:52

I keep walking into doors and stuff Blush or trying to squeeze past DH and getting stuck Grin . Once I completely forgot and was looking for something under the bed, just dropped onto my stomach on the floor, that was horrible, I felt like a whale, a really fat whale! Shock

Cheekychops84 · 13/07/2012 11:59

Yes I got stuck getting out the car and squooshed it a bit and the other day I caught it with the catch on the door massive scratch right across bump ! Lord knows what the midwife must have thought!?

HelenHen · 13/07/2012 12:08

I keep walking my arms into doorhandles too... why have I suddenly forgotten that doors have handles?

WeeDot · 13/07/2012 12:14

Yep, I fell down the stairs a couple of days ago and had to take a trip to A&E!!! Blush

Always walking into things and catching my sleeve on the door handle, banging my knees on the coffee table, anything really that is hard and bound to hurt

Cheekychops84 · 13/07/2012 12:17

Oh dear weedot hope ur ok !? I fell right over hands and knees at a crossing yesterday cut my knee for the 2nd time ! Luckily my bump didn't hit the ground !

WeeDot · 13/07/2012 12:21

Cheekychops84 luckily I hit my head and not my bump, no lasting damage done Grin

It is embarrassing though, hope your knees are OK!

Thumbwitch · 13/07/2012 12:21

I keep walking into door frames and handles and things - but not with my bump! I noticed last time I was pg that I got distinctly more clumsy - kept dropping things, far more than normal, was far worse at spatial awareness (got a couple of dings on my car that I wouldn't normally have done Blush).

I'm actually ok with where my bump is (now at 26+5) but the rest of me is suffering.

LolaAnn · 13/07/2012 19:43

We have a 4 poster bed and it is LETHAL! I've also already lost two toe nails from walking into furniture, im only 16 weeks I dread whats yet to happen! I'm very clumsy at the best of times but this is ridiculous!!

tazmo · 13/07/2012 20:37

Yes I am too. Got a lovely bruise on my leg where knocked into bed post.
