Upset stomach (sorry TMI)

Hi, apologies in advance for oversharing...

Has anyone experienced continuing upset stomach in late pregnancy? I am 38 weeks now and for the last week or so my bowel movements have been very loose and quite frequent. I've gone from needing to go once every 3 days to twice a day most days and there's a definite urgency when I need to go.

I feel sick alot but am not often sick, other than that I have bad heartburn which I'm taking Gaviscon for regularly. I don't know if this is relevant or not.

At first I thought I'd maybe eaten something a bit dodgy but it's been over a week so I don't think it's that.

It's really starting to get me down as I don't want to go anywhere for fear of being caught short or being unwell. :(

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough, however, with all 3 of my pregnancies I have had lose bowels shortly before I went into labour, but it was usually a day or 2 before. Might be worth a visit to the GP though as it's being going on for a week or so.

Could the gaviscon be causing the problem? Just googled and diarrhoea can be one of it's side effects. HTH

Thats interesting FayKnights , I wasn't aware of that being a side effect. I did read the information on the bottle but it didn't list that.

If that is the cause I'm screwed as I can't live without the Gaviscon at the moment!

I've had the same, probably since around 37 weeks. I keep getting excited it's a sign something's about to happen but no luck so far (39+3 today)!

AllIWant85 · 07/07/2012 15:24

Have you been taking Gaviscon sdaisy ? Or any other meds?

Just wondering if that's why it's happening. Really don't want another 2 weeks of this!

Watching with interest. I am 30+5 wuth 3rd dc and I too have been like this since yesterday. Been feeling crampy on and off this last week.
Surely it's too soon for anything yet?
