Regardless of what I eat it's making me feel lousy! I've tried milk by the gallon and over the counter remedies but still like the pits of fire in my throat/ gut. Any tips? I didn't get it with dc1 and happily munched curries throughout pregnancy but only 7+3 and it's making me miserable.

I've been the same, mainly because I'm still being sick at 21 weeks. The only time it seems to stop is if I constantly eat or avoid eating lots of fruit and/or vegetables during the day. Lots of milk and smoothies and Rennies have also helped!

Go to your Gp and ask for something stronger. I know that omeprazole is prescribed in pregnancy and considered safe - my tum flares up for a week or two at a time a few times a year and GP gave me omeprazole even though she knew we were planning a baby. She assured me it would be safe even if I got pregnant. Gaviscon has been enough for me so far but be assured omeprazole is considered safe.

BTW make sure you try Gaviscon double action liquid - I notice a real difference between it and ordinary Gaviscon. I know heartburn can be crap - mine has been coming and going over last 2 months (27 weeks now) and there is no obvious pattern to it. Only definite trigger is Indian food.

Cheers, I've tried the double action and still doesn't budge. I had a salad with no dressing for lunch the other day and I was still in agony later. Seems to be at it's worst from 2-8 in the evening.
