Was just out in town for a meal with OH it was quite a quick affair and I suggested going to a pub afterwards. His answer was 'no what's the point if you're not drinking'. Me - 'i don't mind bring pregnant doesn't mean I can't enjoy myself'. He was adamant that no we weren't going as he had read in some book it wasn't fair to drink in front of pregnant partner. Fair enough but not when pregnant partner wants to!!
I'm so annoyed I feel as though thus pregnancy is stoping me from doing enough things and I'm getting more and more down. So sad and sick of it.
Sorry for going on!

Hormones. Have a bath and go to bed with a good book.

But surely I am not being hormonally unreasonable? Should I be locked in an attic out of harm (and enjoyments) way?

Well in a way he's trying to be nice but perhaps didn't listen so much that you weren't going to be upset about not drinking and positively wanted to go.

Worst case, he's p***d every night and doesn't care so at least its not that! Leave it for today and tomorrow tell him you'd like to go and arrange something so he's not on the spot. What kind of pub was it? Friendly local or city centre thing - maybe he's being protective?

Not taking his side as can imagine how you feel :)

Loislane78 · 06/07/2012 20:34

PS - I persuaded my OH by going to a nice place that does really cool mocktails :)

silvachick · 06/07/2012 20:34

It was city centre but fairly quiet. He had already asked me on the way up if walking 200 yards or so would be manageable. I'm 17 weeks!! To make matters worse his plan all along was to go home ditch me and go' to the local. The real route if the problem!!

Ahhhh, yeah that's annoying if he was trying to ditch you - sneaky.

He needs to get you should do those things together now. Sorry didn't appreciate that. Can see why you're more peed off now. Agree you need to tell him you're not an invalid and need to get out whilst you can.

Good luck :)

Go out with friends instead? Now there's a smoking ban I'll be happy to go out with friends for a fruit juice and a boogie- gotta fit it in while you can! Grin

Yeh I'm going to organise a girly night out. I can't really last the pace anymore so would have preferred a low key night with my partner so I could have bailed when I wanted!

My DH is t-total, but we go to the pub on a weekly basis, just cause its nice to get out the house, but without stress of people (always find a nice quiet corner!). Going on a work pub crawl tomo, I'll be the only non drinker but looking forward to the socialising, and laughing at everyone else as they get more and more wrecked!
