Are 4D scans worth it?

Just that really :)

I'm 27 weeks today and think they recommend going between 28 and 30 weeks. Did you have one and did you like it? My sister is pregnant too and was a bit freaked recently as her baby had a very flat nose :o She had one with first DS and liked it better.

Any recommendations on best time to go? Is it the case that at 28 weeks you see more of the 'whole' baby and 30 more detail in face?

I had a 4d scan, I loved it. I thought it was so much fun. I think I went at 26 weeks, but maybe it was 28, I can't remember. I took my in-laws as a special treat for them so they could be there when my husband and I saw. I loved it so much I wanted to go back again, but couldn't really justify the cost of going twice. Plus they verified it was a girl, which both my husband and I really wanted. Any time would be a good time to go, I thought her face was very detailed even though it was the earliest time to go. I can't wait to see if she looks like her scan. :) I hope you enjoy your scan as much as I did.

How much are they roughly?

Think it depends where you are tbh. Think prices are more competitive in UK mainland but here in NI only a couple of places do them so seem to start at about £140.

If you are in England keep your eye on groupon as they seem to do deals for about £90 from time to time - peeps on here have bought them.

That's not too bad. I may look into that, thanks.

We got a special deal for our scan for £99. It included some black and white photos, a DVD of color photos, and a DVD of the entire scan. It also included a teddy bear, but I wasn't really bothered about that. Oh and also, the scan, gender confirmation. :)

I had one this time, didnt for my first 2 though.
TBH, it was a waste of money for us. Baby was head down, facing my spine with its feet over its head and arms over face!
Was impossible to see anything, I has a free second scan but it was in the same position. They were apologetic (dont knw why! Wasnt their fault!) and said it rarely happens!I had paid an extra £20 for a dvd which is a total waste of money.
We did find out the sex though.
I had the first one at 28 wks and the second at 29.
