Hip Pain 28 Weeks Help!!

Hi all,

I've got really bad hip pain (left side) at the moment (28+4 first timer) and I was wondering whether this will go away, or whether i'm stuck with it for the next three months?

Also, if anyone knows of anything that would ease it, I would be grateful!! It's when I walk (when I take the weight off my leg), and it seems to get worse during the day. It really feels like my leg might fall off!!! [only slightly joking panicked emoticon]

I have a maternity pillow for night time already, and I don't want to have to take too many paracetamol. DH idiotically helpfully suggested I take Voltarol, but of course I can't!

You should see your midwife and ask to be refered to physio. Hip pain is probably SPD/PGP and it can either get better, stay the same, or get worse. Either way, I would definately see your midwife or GP about your hip pain and see what he/she says about it. The only thing I find that eases my hip pain is rest. Some people find sitting on an exercise/birthing ball really comfortable and others swear by maternity belts. I find that sometimes a nice, warm bath is helpful. I would google Pelvic Girdle Pain and see if other people may have other suggestions that will hopefully work for you. Definately talk to your midwife/GP though. Feel better soon, I hope :).
