Brown blood at 5 weeks 5 days pg?

I've just been to the loo and had a tiny bit of brown discharge when I wiped. I checked around my cervix and there was a bit more, I'm guessing old blood? There was a really small amount and I'm not in any pain but am just a bit confused (and worried!)

What do I do? And what does this mean?

Hey, I'm almost 4 weeks pregnant and found the same today. I read that it's normal to get a little bit of brown blood around the time that you period would have been. Implantation bleeding. If you get lots more then maybe phone the doc but I think it sounds normal.

Don't panic, this happened to me and i now have have a bouncing DD. If you get pain that is when you need to think about phoning someone. Sometimes when the foetus latches onto the womb it can cause a bit of blood - could be what this is as it's brown therefore old. If in doubt they can scan you as a heartbeat can be picked up as early as 6wks.

Congratulations - is this your first pg? Smile

Had similar when I was around 9 weeks. Rang the Dr's and he reassured me.

DS is a strapping 9!

Call the Doc or NHS direct for advice. All the best & try not to worry.

Yes it's my first pregnancy so I feel a bit clueless! DH and I did have sex a couple of days ago - could that have caused this maybe?

I'm 7 weeks with 6th pregnancy and this is the only one where I have that each time a day and a half after sex. Was really worried at first (2 miscarriages), but no pain and not bright red so not worried any more. Dr Google reckons it's cervical erosion - harmless. All the best!

Also 5 weeks and have brownish blood. Have a scan tomorrow as mc in October. Super worried and posts have been reassuring. Just hope this is the one, been trying for nearly two years...

Thanks for all the replies. The blood is no longer there when I wipe but there is still some around my cervix, but it's even lighter in colour than yesterday. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Also having a few cramps this evening but they've been on and off for the last few weeks anyway. Hopefully the blood was just a reaction to our "session" the other day and not anything more sinister.

How on earth can you see your cervix? Mine's much too far up for a gander

I would caution you at feeling around your cervix while pregnant. Just from an introducing infection point of view.
Really wouldnt be delving around there.
Does your local hospital have a pregnancy assessment unit? Might be worth giving them a ring although there will not be anything to see on scan at 5 weeks. They might take blood and check for HCG levels and scan you in another week or so.

Hope it all settles down for you. Its scary and worrying i know.
