Tiredness in second trimester

Hi ladies,

Am currently 26 weeks pregnant & for the last 2 weeks have been really tired (not as bad as the first, but pretty bad still the same). I had 3 days off work last work as I jus felt too stressed & tired to do anything much more than lie on the sofa. Today in work I genuinely wondered how I was going to get through he day. I've also been ridiculously hungry & whilst I am trying to stick to healthy options, I find sometimes just need the sugar hit of a couple half a packet :o of choccie biccies. Is this tiredness normal or should I be worried?

I am in my second trimester and I am pretty tired all the time. I was told a bit of tiredness is normal but with me it was limiting. It turned out that I have got anaemia though so it might be worth mentioning that to your GP or your midwife if it is affecting your daily activities to a big extent. Hope that helps!

Thanks Zema, I was thinking Anaemia might be the issue. I've got a mw appointment in 2 weeks anyway where they need to do my bloods so I'll bring it up then

I'm 20 weeks and although I've been feeling a lot perkier since week 18, I felt rubbish until then - ill and tired. I've got a lot more energy now, but as for these claims of having super energy in the second trimester, I don't think so. I still feel pretty knackered after a day at work and if I do too much one day I know about it the next. I certainly don't have nearly as much energy as I did before I was pregnant.

24 weeks and knackered. If I work at home I have to have half hour nap after I eat. Manage to stay awake in the office but only just. Eating makes it worse as your body concentrates on digestion and I also think I am anaemic once more. I think all fairly normal but worth getting checked to make sure not anything else going on.

I've just finished 2nd trimester. Although I felt a little better than first I still felt exhausted. I was waiting for the 'bloom' which didn't happen. Just starting third tri and am starting to feel more tired again. I'm sure a great deal is to do with my job (also a teacher in a challenging school)

I was diagnosed with anaemia at 24ish weeks, and a fortnight on iron tablet later I feel fab - get yourself checked :)

Thanks everyone, I will do & hopefully will feel better soon!

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and tiredness has just hit me like a train this week! Glad it's not just me!
