Is it true that a line's a line? It's very faint, much lighter than last time, palest of pink. Period not due till Thurs. Been ttc since Christmas, even went to GP for a progesterone test last week!

Slightly worried as had glass of wine on Sun due to an early bfn and feeling miserable...

Sounds promising. Wait a couple of days and test again. Oh, and FFS don't worry about one poxy glass of wine!! I must have had oceans of booze before I realised!!

minceorotherwise · 03/07/2012 09:10

Well it sounds like you should be cheering up!!
A line as far as I know, and have 2 to prove it, is a line. I tested way before due and got pale line every time
And don't worry about the wine, lots of people drink a lot before finding out! Yes, afraid I have another tick in that box
Congratulations

test again on thurs it will probably be darker? with my ds3, i was testing really early and the line was very feint - it actually didnt show up at all til the day i was due on then it was really feint and it got darker after a couple of days.
my guess is your pregnant, im sure you cant get false positives and like you said a line is a line!
so congrats! Thanks

It's certainly possible/probable - congatulations! mine started out like that a few days pre period, but you can literally drive yourself nuts wondering! If you can wait a few days and try again, possibly Friday. A word of warning, my doctors confirmation test did not register it as positive till about a,week after the missed period. Don't worry about the wine, baby lives off yolk sac for a few weeks, but cut caffeine and all the other eating advice on nhs website to be safe maybe?

I do think early sensitive tests can cause extra unnecessary stress though. I needed to know for medical reasons but it was excruciatingly worrying daily pink line peering!

ImpYCelyn · 03/07/2012 09:17

Yes. A line is a line. Congrats!

Popinda · 03/07/2012 09:53

I got very extremely faint line 10dpo last week and on 11dpo got a tiny bit darker and on 12dpo I got bfp! Grin they say line is a line no matter how faint! I think you are pg! Congratulations! Smile

Hmm...did a cheap Boots one today and there is a barely there line, can only see it if you look at it in the light ANC even then it's less clear than yesterday's. Oh well, period due tomorrow, we shall see.

It's going to be feint at this stage. And diff tests will show up darker / lighter. At that point one of the digital ones I used showed up not pregnant, and I was!
Good luck! Do let us know !

Clarella · 04/07/2012 18:45

Oh the cheap boots ones are rubbish. I did many comparisons!

Ava1985 · 04/07/2012 19:54

same here im not due on until Sat and got a faint line on internet cheapie this morn so went and bought a first response and got another faint line... Keep testing every few days until a week after your expected period and then make docs appt to confirm it! thats what i did with my daughter and will do the same with this one if all goes accordingly :) false positives dont really happen if you use/read the test after the correct amount of time! congrats!

PuffPants · 05/07/2012 14:08

Well, that's three mornings in a row now with the same faint pale line. Plus period due today and absolutely no sign of it so I'm assuming it's a yes.

Now, can anyone remind me what you're meant to do next. It's my second time but I can't remember what I did last time in terms of booking in with the GP.

God, my GP will think I'm a numpty - I had an ovulation test last week as I was starting to get worried about ttc!

I had to go and see my Dr who gave me all the info I needed to arrange to see the MW etc, congratulations!

mrsbugsywugsy · 05/07/2012 14:21

Congratulations! I think the essentials are to stop drinking and smoking and start taking folic acid asap.

I didn't see a dr at all, and saw the midwife for the first time at 8 weeks, but I think all doctors surgeries have different procedures so give yours a call and ask whether you should make an appointment.

Oh and definitely don't worry about the glass of wine, I asked the midwife as I was worried about the same and she said that for the first few weeks the foetus doesn't take its food supply from you.
