Positive pregnancy test, bleeding, thought we were infertile had first baby ivf?

I just got a positive pregnancy test result and am feeling shocked. We already have 15 month old twins after 4 ivf cycles! We thought we were infertile. We only had sex twice since having the babies!

I bled around the time my period was due. But then I got symptoms of sickness and tiredness, similar, but milder, to first pregnancy, so i did a test anyway.

I have a doctors appointment on Thursday as I knew something was up! But in the meantime does anyone have any similar experiences?!

No experience with IVF here but wanted to say congratulations and all the best :)

Bleeding around when your period was due was possibly/probably implantation bleeding. It's usually light, lasts a day or so.

I know someone who had this happen- multiple rounds of IVF resulting in much longed for pregnancy..........except her twins were only 6 weeks old and still in NICU (born prematurely) when she got pregnant with No 3.......so at least you have a slightly easier gap. Congratulations!!

My twins are a result of fertility treatment. Never used contraception after being told it was unlikely even treatment would result in a pregnancy. When they were 8yrs old I had a one day period and now have dc3. Dh and I looked like this for a long time and then dh went for the snip . Congratulations.

shhh That's like my friend. She and her Dh had been told that it was unlikely to the point of being unfeasible that they would ever conceive naturally. Prior to IVF they had tried for 10 years, then did 4/5 rounds of IVF to conceive their twins and needed ongoing hormone therapy to stay pregnant, and she was 41 at the time her twins were born.

I know a few people who have struggled for years then had babies with IVF and then conceived naturally.
