Hi guys
I'm 8 weeks 5 days pregnant, at 5 weeks experienced light pink bleeding went for scan and all was fine, last week we had a scan and saw nice healthy heartbeat. This morning I have bleed again, only when wiping myself and early this morning it's stopped now, I feel sick and really tired. Should I be worried? Xxx

I had light pink bleeding several times during my first 12 weeks - all was well each time and I'm now 17 weeks.

There are lots of things that can cause light bleeding in early pregnancy besides miscarriage. For example, breakthrough bleeding (when you would have had a period). Another possibility is cervical erosion. I think this is what I had/have.

IMO, based on the reading I did when this happened to me, I'd say that if the bleeding is very light and stops quickly and you have no pain/cramping then chances are that it is ok. Especially now that you have seen the heartbeat which is great Smile and you know it's not ectopic.

Oh and my tiredness/sickness really kicked in at about 8 weeks so I wouldn't be surprised at a change in symptoms at this time (sorry!)

My daughter bled for the first 12 weeks, very heavy at 7 weeks and lightly for 5 or so, it was caused by a pool of blood next to the sac, this gradually disapeared, the tiredness is very normal, she is still tired and so am I as we now have the 1 year old cause of the bleed to look after, a beautiful little girl, fingers crossed for you, x

I bled v lightly at 5 weeks - v v common. Always get any bleeding in the first tri checked over by your GP, but if it's only v slight, it is extremely common & could be a sign of implantation bleeding. Congrats on your pregnancy & the tiredness will only get worse! :)
