Hi everyone I am 6/7 weeks pregnant and I am going to the EPU on Tuesday as I've had a tiny bit of spotting (twice) after sex. This only lasted for a minute or two and was gone. I've also been having some brown discharge on and off but only when I wipe. I've been feeling really really nauseous for the last two weeks, have sore breasts, need to wee a lot and have been extremely tired. I've been googling like mad and I know that I could be having a miscarriage but equally, everything could be fine. I'm just finding it so hard waiting to find out. I desperately don't want to lose this baby.

Hi OP. I don't have much advice but did not want this to go unanswered. It doesn't sound like you have lost much blood and some bleeding after sex can happen. Good luck xxx

I can't offer any advice I'm afraid but I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and your little bean - may he / she be a sticky one! As you say, in the absence of cramping and fresh bleeding, everything may well be fine, hang on in there

(((( hugs))))

Hope all is ok- just to say, I had spotting and it turned out ok

woody17 · 01/07/2012 20:33

Thank you. I really hope it's ok. I had an examination at the doctor's last week and she said she could see old blood so I hope it's just this coming out. I have endometriosis as well so normally have lots of old blood so maybe it's just this...

I've heard that spotting after sex in the earlier stages of pregnancy is quite common, maybe abstain for a bit ( as hard as it might be) to rule it out :) Also, I had the same sort of bleeding as you have at about 6 weeks, again, dark red/brown blood which was always there when i went to wipe at the toilet. After a few days it stopped and i was also told it was old blood. Try not to worry, stress isn't good for you or baby xxx

I completely understand how worried you are but as others and yourself have said it could just as well be implantation or other cause. Having had one successful pg and two mc I have had spotting and baby fine and no spotting or bleeding at all and was mmc. However, the fact that you are having nausea and other symptoms is a good sign! Try not to let the anxiety get the better of you and try to focus on something else, even if it is just a movie for a few hours. I hope you get your good news on tuesday.

Hi we had that but still get it checked. They checked where the bleeding was coming from and did a swab. Found out I had strep b swill need antibiotics in labour. I had to get anti d being rhesus negative but I was over 12 weeks.gave it as a precaution.
