Reassurance needed - cramps and bleeding

My Dd1 (20) is 6wks pregnant (maybe 10wks) and has gone to a and e after 24hrs of period pain-like cramping and then a bit of bright red blood loss this morning.

Can anyone reassure us from experience that this won't necessarily end in a mc?

Didn't want to leave this unanswered but am very sorry to say that in my experience that much blood loss this early on, did end in mc. But, there will be some people on here who will tell you otherwise- I hope it is this for you.

Thanks bramblina. As far I as know there's been no more bleeding, so fingers crossed. She has been booked in for an internal scan on Friday, so I guess we will know for sure then.

Gosh that's a long wait, hopefully it will be worth it though

I am really surprised she has to wait til Friday. Has she spoken directly to her community midwife or early pregnancy unit? They might be able to get her in a bit quicker.

I've bled in the beginning of 4 of my pg. 2 mc, 2 absolutely fine. So it's very hard to judge. All pg are different. Let us know how she gets on.

Thanks boysboys - have now started another thread as she went back in on Monday and they think it's either ectopic and/or cyst on her ovary. Waiting til tonight to do second lot of bloods to see what hormone levels are. Internal scan showed nothing in womb.

She hadnt even had her first midwife appt yet.
