Take a pregnancy test?

booksandchoc · 01/07/2012 08:11

Omg, I'm in exactly same boat but too scared to poas. Spoke to my friend yest and she said its probably all in my head. Have dd (5 months) if I am pregnant I will be about 17 or 18 weeks Blush. Don't have a bump but keep feeling something like kicks.

I read a thread on here about other women getting "kicks" after having had a baby. Think it was suggested that it may be due to the slight reconfiguration of everything when things settle down post birth and also increased sensitivity. I remember because I got these and was convinced I was pregnant when my son was around 7 months. I POAS many times and defo not pregnant. Still get those "kicks" now son is 18 months. But POAS is only way to know for sure.

I had this really thought it was kicks did like 5 preg tests all negative !. It may b phantom kicks or wind ?

ItsMyLastOne · 01/07/2012 12:37

I had the same for months and months after dd was born. It definitely wasn't wind, but I have been told it's to do with your muscles and everything going back to normal. I did LOADS of pg tests and all negative. It stopped when dd was about 12 months and I haven't had any feelings like it till this week when dd is 21 months. (I'm now 18 weeks pg! Wink).

I had windy feelings that if I hadn't been certain I wasn't pregnant, I would have sworn it was baby kicks. They were quite high up on my (relatively) flat stomach so wouldn't have been kicks that high, with no bump iyswim, but I could 'feel' them on my hand & everything!! I figure it was my brain translating feelings in that area to a now familiar feeling. I've had appendicitus since my DD too, so know that things do take a while to settle back down, as there niggles & pain from that before it developed properly.

The only way to know for certain is to POAS though...

Rachog · 01/07/2012 18:26

I had phantom baby kicks too, no idea what caused it but it certainly wasn't a baby.

mylittlemonkey · 01/07/2012 22:05

Yes brings back memories for me too. Convinced I was pg when DS was about 5 months old but wasn't. Phew!
