Im 19+1 and took DS swimming this afternoon. Another child accidentally kicked me in the stomach and now I'm worrying. No pain or anything but do you think baby's alright? xx

I'm sure baby is fine. They are pretty well cushioned by fluid in there. Maybe call your midwife if you are worried?

Almostly certainly nothing to worry about at all. They are surprisingly well protected in there and mine is certainly proving to be remarkably resilient! If you are at all worried though, contact your midwife and get them to listen for the heartbeat. I'm sure s/he is completely fine though, don't panic. :)

Just saw this and wanted to give you some reassurance.

I was in a serious car accident at around 19-20 weeks pregnancy, and my bump was under a lot of pressure from the seat belt. Everything was fine, and hospital were always confident, even before they scanned me that baby would be OK. I was given an extra scan to check, since I was at the hospital anyway, so if you are worried, maybe call your midwife. Good luck, but I'm sure everything will be fine.

Thanks everyone. Was only telling DS yesterday that it takes a lot to hurt the baby cos it's so well protected in there...and now I'm worrying about the exact same thing!

Baby has just started kicking so looks like everything's ok. But I'll call MW if I start having any problems. Thanks again xx
