Hello

Just a bit of fun... curious to see what music you like to listen to while you are pregnant. I am one of those people that really listens to the lyrics of songs, and keen to find ones with suitable nice subjects about life, happiness etc...

Also: any songs your baby seems to enjoy / respond to? Mine seems to like 90s R&B??!

Glad someone else does this! DH thinks I'm insane but I have 10 minute music sessions with PSB, with iPod earphones taped to the bump :o So far PSB has hated Anthony Hospkins' "Composer" album (I agree, 'tis total pants. The America track is like listening the the dustbin collection) but shown no particular interest in anything else.

I've been listening out for music that relates to becoming a parent. Before all this my OH and I have been really active, just us going out and doing as much fun stuff and travelling around as we can so finding music that relates to how our lives are going to change is great. If you get chance, have a listen to 'Watch Them Grow' by Zach Gill, its absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for the tip sammy - will have a listen!

Grin at AKMD. My brother is coming over this weekend to 'let the baby listen to some better music'.

I was talking to DP the other day about how I need to encourage properly indoctrinate baby to enjoy my favourite band by taping headphones to my belly. Might try that now I know I wouldn't be the only one doing it :)

My little fella actually likes me singing to him Hmm, which is not exactly a sign of good taste / music appreciation abilities! Maybe he's just enjoying the good vibrations.

I have an 80s song from my youth, which has a nice beat and an easy rhythm that allows me to do lots of variations with my own lyrics designed especially for baby and what we happen to be doing at the moment. He reacts quite a bit to that tune.

That is cute zoo with baby reacting to your song! We have a silly song we sing quite a bit: hoping it will be familiar to the baby once he/she is here and be a bit reassuring / calming Smile

All my babies have loved "All Possibilities" by Badly Drawn Boy in utero, which I can understand as it's a lovely uplifting song!

"Everything Changed" by Aqualung is lovely and of course, "Wires" by Athlete always makes me cry when I'm pregnant!

More tips - great - thank you! Loving Everything Changed especially.

My Bean seems to like Alice Cooper and Slayer, goes crazy with the kicks when I play them!

My baby always reacts to my singing, she enjoys the deeper, slower songs most. My husband and I sing You Are My Sunshine to her so she is use to it and knows it's us, it's now become a familar song to her, so when she comes out, hopefully it will help to calm her down.

Bump seems to really like Florence and The Machine - she has good taste! :o
