I woke at 3am this morning with an awful period type pain which went away after about a minute. I managed to get back to sleep and since I got up I have has very mild period pains on and off all day. I am 38 weeks and 5 days and more than ready as this is my 2nd baby.
I just want my contractions to speed up and get stronger so I can finally meet my new baby!
Anyone got any tips on speeding labour up????????????

Having sex and relaxing is the best thing to bring it on. Chilling out as much as possible, see if you can get a foot massage etc.

When I was in the same situation, I went and walked up a big hill on the midwife's orders. Well, halfway up... It was enough, anyway, as less than 12 hours later I had my daughter in my arms.

Good luck with everything, OP x

Well I wasnt in slow labour and here I am still pregnant! Pains completely disappeared and left me feeling ver frustrated and completely fed up! I'm now 39+1 and am having an awful day! Am in an awful mood, feel ill, tired, on my own with a bored 4 year old and all I want to do is either sleep or go into active labour. I've done nothing but cry for the last 2 days!!!!!!!
i hope my next post is to announce the birth of my gorgeous baby boy/girl?
Good luck to you all x

weeze444, i had this for weeks with DS2 but on the plus side my 39 +6 and my waters broke (had no pain that day funnily enough), DS2 born 1.5 hours later!

Given how your feeling I reckon it won't be long!
