Pregnancy tests at sexual health services?

I got a BFP a few days ago, but ever since I've had BFNs. I'm worried that the BFP was a blue-dye false positive. My period is either late or due today. I'm thinking of going to the sexual health services near me later on and get them to do a pregnancy test... Is there any point? Are the tests any different or better than HPTs? Will it just show up negative again? Maybe I'm a late tester? Maybe I'm not pg at all and it was a false positive?

Hi Kaz

As far as I know they use exactly the same type of test as a hpt.

What type of hpt did you use? It may be that the sensitivity of the test you got the bfp on was different from the one you have the bfns on.

All very stressful I know, fingers crossed

Mags xx

Maybe you should pop to the gp to check. It could be that the urine is more dilute in the last three tests or something called a chemical pregnancy (very early mc) :( they can be picked up if you test before your period is due, usually go unnoticed if you have regular periods. Really hope the others are false negatives, unMNy hugs x

Thank you. The positive was actually later on in the day and the other three were first thing in the morning :( Hoping going to the sexual health services will mean I get a positive...

From what I've read on the Internet not always right I know but false positives are very rare and if you did the other tests straight after your urine might have been more dilute. Go to your GP and let them test, my GP send urine samples to the hospital for them to be tested, or test again first thing

I've looked up on amazon reviews and there was 50 people who had rated it one start and loads of people saying that they'd had false positives :(. I'm praying it wasn't one but it might be considering I've not had a positive since then and that was like 4 days ago.

Going to go to the sexual health services when it opens at 3.30. Hoping I get a positive there.
