Stretch Marks What's The Deal There Then??

Ok so I'm 36+6 and have just developed stretch marks, I thought I had gotten away with it but nope they got me.

They look really evil looking, they are at the front of my bump at the lower part. I moisturise 2-3 times a day and have done since 18 weeks.

What's the deal then, do they go away eventually or do you have them for life??

Any tips on how to make them less noticeable once fat baby boy is born??

Also mine are a little sore is this normal??

I got mine really late too. Really pissed me off as I thought I'd escape, but no!

My friends is a Obs & Gynae Cons and he said oils and cream make no diff whatsoever. You'll either get them or you won't. It's hormone related. Oils and creams help keep the skin supple and less prone to itching but that's it.

I have used bio-oil every day since DD arrived (now 8mo) and they are pretty much gone. Think what's left will stay for a while though.

And yes, my skin got sore late in pg. Think it was to do with stretching. The constant itching drove me bonkers. Sat with a wet flannel on my tummy for the last few weeks. If it gets too hot/itchy/sore see your GP. I think they can give you sone cream to help. Otherwise, just keep it oiled!

Good luck with the rest of your pg!

same here. I didn;t develop any until i was 40 weeks pregnant (if only he'd popped out at 39 weeks !)
I think because i didn;t get them until late, while there is quite a few they actually were not too big or deep and are quite superficial. So aftern another baby and 5 years passing mine are hardly noticable at all and i can wear a bikini without worrying about it.
I remember mine really really itching too which was just horrendous, but then my tummy was really tight as i had polyhydramnious too....

I got one at 39+4 with dd, just above my belly button on my piercing scar.
I was very unimpressed as got right through 2 pregnancies without a single stretch mark until that point and she was born 2 days later!
You can't see it at all now (6 years on) I just hope I don't get more this time around.
I do have a connective tissue condition though that means I'm super stretchy so that may be why I only got one
