Where has all this cellulite come from?!

As it's pretty humid today I'm wearing shorts for the first time since I got pregnant, I'm sat on the sofa with OH and he just exclaimed "what are those weird bumps on your thigh?"

I seem to have developed tonnes of hideous cellulite! I was a regular runner before pregnancy and my legs were not thin by any stretch of the imagination, but they were reasonably toned!! I'm mortified now!

Is this in any way pregnancy related or am I just seeing the results of too much chocolate?!

31 weeks here and legs covered in cottage cheese! Was not this bad before pregnancy - really!

I've got cellulite everywhere and whilst I had some before it has drastically increased since I've been pregnant, I've read that it does go again once you've had the baby, I'm hoping that if I can breast-feed that will help too and I think of the baby as like a little fat Hoover that will magically suck it all up!!

Smicha · 27/06/2012 21:39

Good to know that it may go away! Love the thought of little baby as a fat Hoover :) that's exactly what I'll get him to do!

I have developed loads on thighs too, I have given up riding whilst pregnant so hoping when I start again they will form up- also planning to buy the soap and glory sit tight the moment baby is born! (on amazon wish list ready!)

Rosebud05 · 27/06/2012 22:24

I got my first bit of cellulite during my first pregnancy and now have more Smile.

Certainly pregnancy water retention makes it worse - it should get better once your baby is here.

Wildwaterfalls · 27/06/2012 22:28

I have also read it goes away afterwards, and an determined to believe it!

I can cope with a bit on my thighs, but I seem to have developed some on my upper arms recently??! Blush

It is sub-cutaneous fat storing up in order to provide stores for breast-feeding (well that is my excuse anyway Grin). Best way to get rid of it is exercise and breast-feeding once you have the baby. Mine was worse during my second pregnancy, but has started to reduce rapidly since my DD2 has been born (18 weeks ago), because with two to look after I am constantly on the go! I heard dry brushing before a bath or shower helps too.

Cookiesandcream06 · 27/06/2012 22:43

Mine is sick. Never had perfect thighs but this is literally on my knees and all on the front of my leg as well as back. Only 16 weeks. Bring on the breast feeding then!!

feesh · 28/06/2012 05:40

Please tell me it goes. I am suffering too. I'm sure I've never seen anyone else, with or without children, with as much as I have right now!

Smicha · 28/06/2012 06:51

It must go to an extent or surely we would have noticed it on friends/family?! That's my take on it now and I'm just going to wear longer trousers for the next 14 weeks and exercise my legs and BF like mad from October! blissfully ignoring the fact I may look like this forever

Now my boobs have just leaked this morning for the first time... this pregnancy thing just gets more glamorous by the day Hmm

Noticed this today too. I'm pear shaped and have cellulite on my bum and thighs at the best of times but I am now jelly from ankle to va jay jay, it's vile!

I suspect that on top of the water retention and too many biscuits my lack of exercise due to meralgia parasthetica has probably helped cause this.

Put me on the "I hope breast feeding and post-birth exercise shift it" camp. Confused
