I am nearly 36 pregnant with a 'miracle' after having tried IVf, adopted a child, then conceived naturally, out of the blue, 15 yrs later! So, consequently, I am a little paranoid about symptoms and for the past 48 hrs, I have had explosive, watery diarrhea! Should I just see this out as a silly stomach bug? And how do I tackle it? I can't do what I would normally do and simply go on a liquid diet! Could this be an early labour sign? Any suggestions gratefully received - thanks.

I had this in early labour, but was already having contractions. May well just be a bug. Good luck for the birth!

Bless you! Yes, diarrhoea can be a sign of impending labour as your body 'rids' itself of 'unneccessary matter' Any other symptoms? How far along are you?

Sorry - meant to read, "I am nearly 36 weeks pregnant." No other symptoms - just slight tummy ache! I am just scared this will affect the baby......

Labour is imminent I reckon. i had diarrhoea during early labour before I'd started any contractions.

Good luck!

Ok, so it might be early labour starting but you might not really get into it for a while.

A tummy ache could be the start of something OR you've picked up a little bug. I got a bug at around 30 wks and my GP reassured me it wouldn't harm the baby but it was important to keep up the fluid intake. You might want to check with your mw or call Nhs direct...unless you go into labour before then!!!

Keep us posted!
