Itchy rash over bump???

Massive raised rash all over my bump, raised red spots covering my bump all over (but only my bump) its really itchy, looks mean, and been like this for about 3 days.

I do wear one of those tube stretchy support bump things I got from the physio, but I have been wearing it for about 4 weeks so don't think it's connected. I'm 36 wks, any idea???

No idea it sounds like it could be due to the support. Could it be that your bump has grown and therefore now the support is causing friction/ heat rash or similar?

I would either pop to see your midwife or GP though to get it checked out.

I had this! Apparently it is due to your skin stretching and it is very harmless - but I would contact someone just in case.

And fwiw, with me it resolved quite quickly and seemed to coincide with when I suddenly got bigger and then it died down, so don't be too alarmed by that link saying it can last til after the birth! Smile

But just to stress, if you feel poorly inany other way, please seek medical help.

Cheers, i'll try an get an appointment with doc later just in case.

I has this, gp gave me hydrocortisone and aqueous cream which didn't really help. The thing that worked best was showering 2 or 3 times a day using coal tar soap on a flannel so I could give it a good scratch at the same time then covering myself in moisturising cream. Sounds strange but it really worked!

You have my sympathy, I was covered in it and the itching made me miserable

I agree its probably PUPPP......i had an itchy rash last week over my bump that looked like heat rash and was really itchy. I used Aveeno cream to try and soothe the itch and thankfully after a week it seems to have eased. If it appears again i will head to the drs for either cream or antihistamine tablets.

I had a very itchy rash over my bump in late pg. It was unbearable I I didn't sleep for a good couple of weeks before the birth, so was already totally exhausted and was in a lot of discomfort with it. Doctors took it v seriously and made the decision to deliver 2 or 3 weeks early, then just as I was about to go in for the c-section I went into spontaneous labour and they had to rush me down and deliver before the labour got really underway so it turned into a bit of an emergency.

Def get it checked out, it can be serious.

Got Checked out today at GPs, was then sent to a&e after I started leaking water too. But everything seems to be fine and they've let me go home, they said the rash is likely to be from my bump stretching. So just got to get some cream for it now from gp.

I had this when I got to 40 weeks, it was on my stretch marks and looked (and felt) so angry. The gp had never seen it before. I was given hydrocortisone at the weakest strength which soothed it a bit. To be honest it only went after delivery although it might have gone anyway after a couple of weeks. I was given piriton in hospital though which might have helped. I'm not sure if you can have that when still pg though?

Sympathies, it was horrible. If you leaking water will they induce you soon?
