Weird stinging/tingling sensation in abdomen

Hi,
I'm 7+3 and ever since I got to work this morning I'm feeling a bizarre stinging/tingling sensation all over the front of my abdomen. It doesn't hurt as such, but feels sore and uncomfortable. What on earth is going on, any thoughts?! Getting a bit worried.

Hi Aimee it could be the tendons stretching as your hormones kick in. I had so many various aches, pains etc during pregnancy it can be scary when you don't know what they all are.
Do you have a pregnancy book? What to expect when you're expecting was my bible during my pregnancy. If you are worried though always go to the doctors to be on the safe side Smile

Second LittlePebble. I had similar sensations and it's linked to the adjusting and shifting of your body in early pg. Most hospitals have an early pg unit where you can get a scan (internal) if you're really worried. Put my mind at rest as DD was my first and it's hard to ask advice from friends if you've not told anyone your pg (I wasn't on mumsnet at the time).

And What to Expect When Your Expecting was my bible too. Not sure how good the film version will be in answering all those questions though!!!

Thank you both- that explanation does make sense as I heard this is the week my womb should start growing a little. Thankfully it has gone away now anyway, I've stopped worrying! :)
I do have a book, a big one which is like a day-by-day guide to the pregnancy, by Dorling Kindersley- couldn't find anything about it in there though!
Can't wait till my midwife appointment in a week and a half as I feel really left to fend for myself with it at the moment!

Glad you're feeling better about things.

Hopefully meeting the mw at your booking appt will start getting you really excited!! But be warned, IME (and not sure it's the same for everyone) you prob won't be seen again until 24 wks or so - apart from dating and 20 wk scan (when you dont see mw anyway, just sonographer). I found it quite odd when they told me I wouldn't be seeing anyone for such a long time!

Big congrats btw. You're about to do the best job in the world!!!
