Being induced today!!

I'm on the delivery ward, nothing is happening (to me) I got the first gel last night at 9 o clock. Had an internal exam, cervix was posterior and closed tight. Felt really sore! Have been cramping since, got some solpadeine at 3.15 am.

Tried to sleep, have an eye mask and ear plugs but too crampy and theres a weird smell of burnt ironing board, it's really strong!

Two or three others have been taken off to the delivery rooms. One girl was having an awful time. Hope she is ok! Two other girls here now, one sounding quite stressed, whimpering and doing her breathing. Brave girl....

Anyone up??

Yes thanks! I got tea, toast and cornflakes this morning and even had a little snooze there. There is a newborn and Mama in the bed next to me!! They are feeding him for the first time, it's making me so excited.

How you doing? I had an induction with dd2 (she's starting school this September [sob]). Can you get up and move about? Have you had a bath yet? When I had dd2 the midwives kept sending me to have a bath , it worked but at the fourth time of suggesting I was almost ready to tell them to have a feckin' bath themselves!

Nothing happening, I've had a shower an hour or two ago! I don't like to hog the bath really as there are women who need it a lot more than me! It's a proper baby boom here!

Ooh the little newborn is crying, even his crying is a good sound to me! I'm losing it, give me a baby NOW !!

Won't be long scarlet before you're cuddling your own beautiful snuggle newborn! I'm 28 weeks with dc2 and getting impatient already. Hope you get some activity this afternoon :)

Morning all! I'm hoping that the lack of recent posting means that things are happening...

I've had my DD ! She was born at 7.30 this evening weighing in at 6lbs 15oz !! She has breastfed like a dream for about 90 mins in all and is now sleeping soundly beside me!

I can't stop looking at her. She has a head of dark wavy hair!! Her Daddy is a smitten kitten and so am I !!

Her name is Béibhín May (pronounced Bayveen)
