random consultant appointment

13 weeks with dc2, had booking in appointment week before last, all ok and I was told I was midwife led care, was lucky enough to actually see my named midwife.

Had two letters over the weekend; my platelet count was low so I've got to have monthly blood tests and they also lost my urine sample so I have to repeat it. I've booked an appointment with my midwife for Wednesday.

Today I've got home to letter inviting me to an appointment with a consultant next week with no clue as to why. Would they refer me for low platelets?

The only other thing I can think off is I declined to be weighed so they may be calling me in to nag me about that but seems a bit of a waste of time for a consultant's time!

Thanks for input, it's just getting a little stressful as I don't know what's going on and I keep having to take time off work for all these appointments (boss is super but I feel guilty for dumping work on the rest of the team!)

I would have thought the appointment is because of your low platelets.

Thanks for replying stumbleine, this pregnancy is already so different to my first with DD that I can't help but worry sometimes.

Try not to worry (easier said than done I know!). I know it can feel like one thing after another when issues crop up! Good luck Smile.
