painful bump

Hi all, I'm 28 weeks pg and this is my second. I had a very easy pg with my dd and tbh I don't remember much of it! (It was 8 yrs ago now!)

In the last few days I've been getting really out of breath and I can no longer bend down to pick things up from the floor :( not unusual during pg and reading up on the weekly update type emails, to be expected, however over the last few days my bump has started to really hurt.

It usually hurts when the baby flips over or when she feels like she is pushing her shoulders or feet out of the bump. Now its hurting every time I move and if I lay in the wrong way.

Is this 'normal'?? If my pg with my DD is anything to go by I'm probably gonna be massive! Does anyone have any remedies that might be able to help me?

TIA

Do you mean it hurts as in it feels tight and overly stretched, or something else? I find a good bio-oiling session seems to ease it when it feels too stretched :)

It feels very over stretched and tight, if I touch it during these times it hurts :(

Sorry, didn't really explain it well!

I'm getting kind of muscley-type pains down the sides of my bump sometimes. I'm 19wks.
It's horrible turning over in bed sometimes if I twist a bit. It really hurts.
My 1st pregnancy was 6yrs ago so I didn't realise I'd forgotten how uncomfortable you can get Smile

I know what you mean, I honestly don't remember my bump being uncomfortable last time... Maybe we just forget these things to make us have more babies!!

I know I'm put of any more due to this alone... Let alone the MS and the tiredness/sheer exhaustion!!

I sometimes get a sore tummy button if he's in a certain position. I'm 28 weeks. I get breathless too if I bend over. My previous pregnancy was also 8 years ago - SNAP!

I found a good massage with Bio oil helped when my skin felt dry and stretched.

I got stitch-type pains down the left hand side of my bump, MW told me I'd pulled the round ligament, probably at aquarobics around 30 weeks.

I've had quite bad ligament pain and this seems to be different.

Might try some bio oil, I've been moisturing my bump every time I have a bath any way as I got bad stretch marks with my DD so I don't really want any more now!!

Thanks everyone!

I felt as if I pulled a muscle in my bump at around 30 weeks. On one side...definitely a muscular pain. It was v bad at the time and meant bending and twisting v painful on the one side. It's eased up a bit now (39+ wks) but if the baby pushes too hard, it's always that area that hurts.

I checked with MW when it happened as the pain was bad. But since movements were the same, no bleeding or contractions, we decided it was a pulled muscle.
