Hi everyone! I just found out this morning -6am - I am pregnant! Absolutely delighted... also getting married in 9 weeks! :) I'm constantly hungry (although a lot sicky too), but getting confused through thousands of websites what can and what can not eat! How about tuna/chorizo, and else?
Also, for our wedding we are flying abroad. Is it safe? If everything is ok, I guess I will be about 13 weeks!
Thank you for your answers.

Congrats on the pregnancy Thanks

Here is a link for you Do's & Don'ts If you look to the right hand side slightly down a bit MN have lots of info.

Also, if you do some searches on MN you'll find lots of threads with preg ladies asking similar things.

You'll be grand flying at 13 weeks, I flew at 6, 8, and 34 weeks with DS1 and at 22 and 23 weeks with DC2. Only thing is you might be feeling a bit sick, so have some snacks or sucky sweets to eat while travelling.

Come & chat to us on the March 2013 antenatal thread - and congratulations!

CakeBump · 23/06/2012 18:18

Congratulations!

Carry on as normal, except don't smoke, limit alcohol and avoid raw meat and eggs.

Don't listen to the scare mongering!!! Listen to xour body instead and decide what YOU are comfortable with...

Yay, congrats!! Make an appt with your gp asap! Avoid unpasturised cheese (whether hard or soft), pate, liver, shell fish, sushi, undercooked meat, runny egg. Wash all fruit and veg thoroughly and dont eat tuna, swordfish or shark more than once a week. No more than 200mg caffeine per day, so cut down on tea, cola and especially coffee. Go to the chemist and buy a pregnancy supplement containing folic acid. It seems like loads but you get used to it! If you forget/slip up dont panic or worry too much xx

CakeBump · 23/06/2012 18:21

oops, "your"

CakeBump · 23/06/2012 18:22

Actually you can eat sushi, runny eggs, cooked shellfish and pretty much all cheese...

openerofjars · 23/06/2012 18:41

Congratulations!

You can also have stilton, cured meat and smoked salmon these days, which I only bloody found out at 8m pg...

Check the NHS website for more info, and by the way, a recent and very thorough Danish study found that women who had a couple of units of alcohol a week had children who were less likely to have behavioural problems at age 5 than women who abstained totally...

CakeBump · 23/06/2012 19:22

love that Danish study! Grin

Now to find one that supports the advantages of consuming space yoghurt cava while breast feeding...

You can eat most hard cheese, whether unpasteurised or not & the current view on tuna is that you shouldn't exceed 4 small cans a week. Check out the nhs website.

Dear everyone! Thank you for your congrats and the great advises!

NeedlesCuties;I had a look at that website! Was great, thanks!

I also called my GP, where they suggested appointment with Midwife, so that's whom I booked with for next week! We are so excited with my fiancee.
He is really really supportive, made sure I have enough (healthy)snack for work with me (as constantly hungry)! He also kisses and says good night to my belly every night!

CakeBump! Luckily I won't have a problem with smoking and drinking! I never smoked, and hardly ever drink alcohol! :) But thanks! :)

Girls! Do you have any suggestion where to buy comfortable (no need for expensive), elasticated work skirts? Obviously no maternity clothing yet, as they would be too big yet! I normally wear suit for work, but my skirt is already getting uncomfortable when sitting (and I'm sitting a lot).

Thank You! And of course if you lot are expecting, congrats to you all too! xx
