I'm about 6 weeks pregnant with my 3rd dc. Ds1 is 6 and at school full time, ds2 is 4 and attends preschool 2.5 days a week. I'm not working. So I'm not exactly over doing it! Anyway, I have been exhausted for nearly 2weeks now, to the point where somedays I go to bed at 8pm and sleep until 7am the next day! I used to be up until 11ish before! On occasions when I don't go to bed at 8, I fall asleep on the sofa until I do go to bed.

I have seen mw (on wed) and she did usual bloods taken at booking in appt, but results not back yet.

Is this anything to worry about do you think?

Nope sounds very normal, I have never slept so much or so well as I did in early pregnancy particularly with dc 3 & 4 - was sleeping almost double as much as usual Shock

It did improve by the 2nd trimester.

Mind you it could be twins... Wink

Well it sounds much like me too - only thing is I'm now 24w and still knackered! I need a nap nearly every day (but can't do 11h in bed at one stretch, it hurts my hips too much) and some days even just taking DS (4.6) to play group is shattering. My only excuse is I'm 44 and obviously not coping as well as I did with DS - but apart from that, everything else is fine (blood tests etc. all normal)

You might be a touch anaemic, but it might just be that you have 2 small DC already combined with the pregnancy. I wouldn't worry!

Oh I remember being like that, woke up about 9ish had a nap at midday then back to bed at 8pm

Oh those were the days Grin

Thumbwitch, I recovered from the early exhaustion only to then become anaemic - I would really recommend taking Spatone or floradix and even slightly low iron levels can know you for 6.

Ok, thanks. I knew I was worrying about nothing! You know what its like- you get pregnant and all rational thought goes out the window! Grin

Will look into those supplements just n case.

Randomess I hadn't thought of that!

Maybe I've just forgotten what pregnancy is like, after all, it has been a while! Grin

The only other slight possibility could be thyroid issues which if you were unknowingly borderline swings pretty quickly in early pregnancy. underactive causes horrible dopey sleepless. It would be the docs area to look into, not mw. If you were sub clinical (borderline, untreated) it is important to get it treated in first trimester if so. It's probably normal annoying pregnancy stuff though! congratulations on your pregnancy!
