Allergy Meds?

I have very bad allergies in spring/summer and would like to take meds on the intolerable days so I can function. However, internet searches all say it's best not to take any. The NHS person I spoke to said I could take small doses of Benadryl, but every pg is different...

Does anyone have any knowledge of allergy meds and the first trimester? Is anyone else taking them and what have you heard from your MW or doctor?

apparently piriton is safe while pg (but not advised for anything more than 1 off dose while BFing)

I have allergies and was really worried about how I was going to cope without anti-histamines for the duration of pregnancy, especially through hay fever season. I don't know whether it's a side effect of pregnancy but I now haven't had an anti-histamine since last October (when I discovered I was pg) and have not been bothered by my allergies at all! I'm really quite amazed as ive suffered for years. I'm hoping it continues after the baby is born.

Both my midwife and doctor have said that piraton is fine and perfectly safe to take. I think some brands are preferable than others for pregnant ladies.

also bear in mind that anti sickness tablets (that people with HG have) are an antihistamine

I took max dose of these from 6 weeks pg until the day i gave birth

(which meant i couldnt have other antihistamines too, but when pg i didnt actually need any others anyway)
