Membrane sweep issues...

Okay, so your stories of membrane sweeps would be much appreciated please! I've just had a horrid experience...I was due on Monday and am now 40+4. I had a sweep at 40+2 and the mw said I was nearly 1cm dilated, and my cervix was 2cm long. She couldnt properly sweep though due to the "firm consistency". I still had lots of pink/brown show after though with lots of BHs and a bit of period pain. I went back today for another sweep and nothing had changed! It was another mw and she said my cervix was getting softer round the edges (?) but I wasnt dilated enough for a sweep! So upset!! Has anyone else been told this, then go into labour anyway? Or do you think I'll be waiting a long while for my baby?
ps got another sweep Monday, then induction 'discussion' wednesday..

Hiya- with my first on the Friday afternoon I was told my cervix was too far back and hard so she couldn't do the sweep. My waters broke 4am on the sunday, labour at 12pm and had my baby by 9pm. I did a lot of walking to get things going though!

I went into labour a few hours after my sweeps with both my DD's. Don't wander too far from home!! Goodluck
