Hello!

I've just done an IVF cycle, and tested +ve on Sunday (10dpo). I felt terrible on Monday, very sick and thought that morning sickness had started already!
Tuesday I felt quite a bit better and obviously started to worry. Then yesterday I started what I thought must've been AF with cramps, esp in my back.
However, I went for the official blood test today and got a call to say "Congratulations you are pg" Shock with an hCG level of 92.

I'm wondering whether both embryo's implanted, which would have made my hCG levels shoot up, then something went wrong and my levels are now decreasing. This would explain the sickness on Monday and the bleeding now wouldn't it?

I'm mentally prepared for this pregnancy to fail, so if anyone has got any advice please don't worry about being blunt - I can cope! I just wish I knew what on earth is going on!

One HCG level on its own doesn't really tell you much apart from the fact you were pregnant when they did the test.
I assume you have a repeat HCG for 48 hrs which will tell you if the level has risen and therefore, if you are still pregnant.
Good luck.

I would've thought so too, but they told me not to worry and I have to go back at the end of next week. Seems a bit of a long time to wait...

Perhaps you could ring them and tell them you are having symptoms? They may see you beforehand

I had red bleeding at 11dpo 2 days after my bfp. I was also on a fresh ivf cycle. It stopped the next day and I haven't had any since. I am assuming all is ok as I havent had anything since and I've been off the progesterone supplements for 2 weeks now. I have my scan a week tomorrow.
I think the ivf makes your lining very thick compared to a natural cycle, which does make it more prone to bleeding during implantation.
You can ask for a repeat beta if you are worried, if your level doubles inside 72 hours, everything is most likely fine

Yeah, I might ring them tomorrow and ask if I can go in on Sat morning to see what's happening... Thanks!

Rogers, congrats on your bfp Smile I really hope all goes well for the rest of your pregnancy, and good luck at the scan! Can I ask how heavy your bleeding was? Mine seems to be getting slightly heavier which is not great. I am still hoping for a miracle though! That's interesting about the lining, I hope it's because of that...

It started lunchtime with tan coloured spotting, then went bright red and was like a light flow, then back to brown by bedtime and gone by morning. I seriously freaked out, I was amazed we got a bfp at all, I'm 37 so a bit of an old gimmer, so I thought well that's that. I spent all afternoon on the sofa eating chocolate and crying!
Are you still on the progesterone? If so and they have given you pessaries, you could try usin them as a suppository instead, as the pessaries can irritate the cervix and cause bleeding! Also, steer clear of sex and try to eat loads of fruit so you don't get constipated, that can make you bleed too!

Thank you! Did you have cramping too? I haven't been to the loo for a little while, I'm happy here on the sofa Smile I don't want to go in case it's got heavier!
Am trying to drink loads, but can't eat fruit as I feel queasy! Sex...what's that then Wink Grin

Lol ye tell me about it! I just had an immaculate conception, dh hasn't had any since end of April yet here I am knocked up :0)
Yes I did have a lot of sharp stinging cramps followed by dull period pain type stuff, then next time I went to the loo the bleeding had started. I took paracetamol assuming I was miscarrying, but the cramps never got really bad. Bad enough to be ouchy but not serious pain like a period.
