First visit to antental doctor?

I've got my first visit with the antenal doctor tomorrow (who's actually just a GP at my surgery). I will be 22 weeks and I haven't seen anyone since 16 weeks (had my scan at 20 weeks though and all was fine apart from low lying placenta).

Does anyone know what this session is for, and what I can expect? I know I could just wait but these things make me very nervous...

Probably just a check up. In my last pregnancy my gp used to like to alternate between gp & midwife to keep that community link.

This time it's a different midwife every time as all ante natal care has been removed from the gp.

Good luck!

Same as heartbeep. I pretty much saw someone every month from about 5/6 months alternating between mw and GP and then it went to every 2 weeks once I got into my last month.

I had a low lying, anterior placenta too. Luckily mine moved up by 36 wk scan. No sex though...which tbh, was fine with me!! Wink

I go to my GP instead of a midwife at the hospital. No waiting around and the GPs are all lovely.
At this stage I think it just involves urine dipping, BP pulse etc. I actually didn't go until 28 weeks-have become a bit slack with DC3. Now I have to go every 2 weeks, am 33+3.
She feels bump also now, and listens with the wee horn thing for heartbeat.
