Hiya everyone just wondering if anyone could advise what goes on at a 16 week appointment with the consultant? I am classed as high risk due to an emcs for failure to progress with my last pregnancy and wondered if they would discuss why I didn't progress and my chances of a successful vbac. Any info people could supply is greatly appreciated x

IME, they discuss previous births and possible furture plan, ask you if you have any question. Then if you are undecided about VBAC or CS then you will be sent away to think about it armed with leaflets adn asked to come back at 32 weeks to discuss your decision. This does not mean you won't be seen inbetween just means you need to finalise your decision at that appointment.

I think it might also depend on your consultant. Ask your midwife what they are like, if you can other mums who might have been under them. I got wind that the one I was seeing was brusque and technocratic from 3 different mum (friends of mine) so I changed app for someone for whom I had heard really positive feedback.

Mine was entirely uneventful - they told me to get my blood tested regularly (was referred for hypothyroidism) and to come back at 34 weeks. I was in and out in 10 minutes!
