Increase in movements at 34 weeks, do I worry ?

Baby has woke me up doing 30 mins of really strong energetic movements. Seems to have calmed down now. Just seemed out of character Iyswim.

Not sure if I need to ask someone about this or am I worrying about nothing ?

If you're worried, speak to your midwife :)

I am 35 weeks and I think every day I have been googling 'increased movement at 34 weeks' or 'decreased movement at 35 weeks'. I can't win! If it moves a lot I am worried, if it's a bit quieter I'm worried...Every time something happens like that I find lots of forums with responses that show me that movement goes up and down and as long as there is still movement when you do a spot of Baby Bothering (ice cold water, lying down on the side afterwards to see if it responds) I think you're ok.

Of course if you are really worried call the midwife, go to the doctor, go to A&E etc as obviously things do go wrong. I have been so close to going to A&E so many times but the baby has always managed to reassure me at the last minute.

Movements for me in the last couple of weeks have sometimes been really energetic too. A lot of shuddering! I think it is just the baby getting bigger and stronger so movements seem quite changeable. So then when it is quiet it is more noticeable. I have a doppler (have had recurrent miscarriage in the past - although all ended before 12 weeks) which I still have to get out every now and then just for reassurance too.

I am 35 weeks and had a lot of strong movement I thought maybe it's where baby is trying to turn or has turned ?

I sometimes think that you can feel movements more strongly at this stage because baby is wedged in there more tightly and has to shove more! Don't worry, an increase on day and decrease the next (or vice versa) is normal :)

I did leave a message for my midwife, no call yet. But baby's movements seen back to 'normal' so I'm not as concerned now, just never been woken up by licking before and this is DC4 !

Lol, kicking not licking :)

That doesn't happen much these days either Grin

Midwife did ring later on that yesterday and said not to worry about baby doing more moving than normal, unless it continued onto a second day in which case I would need monitoring.
