Hi all, I am wondering if someone can recommend some comfy mat jeans that are nice and soft and stretchy and don't dig into bump?! I tried some on in mothercare with a microfiber over bump band, jean part was lovely but bump band was sooo tight it would never have stretched full term! All the jeans I have either fall down or dig in when I got big under the bump (1st preg experience!). Any suggestions very welcome :)

This time I have given in and got a pair with the MASSIVE bump cover from Next and I wish I had done it last time around. They are comfy and there is no chance of crack being on show......unlike the smaller bump band ones.

Honestly I have had to bin my other 'small bump band' ones because quite frankly no-one wants to see that!

Say no to crack

I had this problem when i first started wearing maternity wear. Mamas and Papas over the bump jeans are BRILLIANT! They are expensive around £40 a apair but they are the best jeans i ve ever had.

Dont bother with under the bump trousers, they are one big pain in the neck! Having to hitch them up all the time.

Also Next do maternity over the bump leggings at £12 a pair, again these are great, i never have to mess with them no matter how many times i get up and sit down !

I have loved these M&S skinny jeans.
The picture is bloody awful, but they are fitted, stretchy and come right over my massive bump!
Although they are starting to feel a bit small, but I only have 7 weeks to go!

I also like the Mothercare cropped jeans. Again nice and comfy, no slipping down.

Must have a look at the next ones....

I wore under bump jeans with a belt so they stayed up, I hated having anything pressing on my bump!! Either that or jeggings depending on what I was wearing them with.

AWomanCalledHorse · 19/06/2012 09:23

I found the Boden maternity range to be big in the bump band area, everything I had from there was really comfy.
Be warned, the quality of clothing is bloody awful so would probably only last you one pregnancy (if you're thinking of having another), and you'd probably have to go down a size...but they're nice to sit around in!

My most super comfy pair are from Gap - a huge band that is still containing my bulk at 36 weeks and don't require the constant hitching up that some others do! I've also got an H&M pair too - the band is very comfy, though the legs seem to have shrunk in recent weeks... Wink
If getting to the shops is a pain (I have a toddler!) then I would recommend having a look on ebay too - I bought about 3 or 4 pairs, each for less than a fiver, and then just resold the ones that weren't working for me.

I didn't find underbump gave me a very flattering bump profile, but I love my Dorothy Perkins over bump jeans. The elastic is 1" thick so they're really sturdy and don't fall down, but the underbump area isn't too tight :)

I bought mine from new look on special offer for £10!! They're over the bump, boot cut and super-comfy!! Lovely!! Grin

Nel1975 · 19/06/2012 10:58

I agree with Kelbells - New Look -over the bump, boot cut. Think I paid £16 but well worth it as been wearing them for last 4 months. Wash up fine. Much preferred these to under the bump.

Londonmrss · 19/06/2012 12:18

I love my over bump Next ones- they're really comfy. One problem is the bump band is really stretchy, so even when the top of the band is right under my armpits, the bottom of the band has gradually sunk throughout the day... meaning the top of the denim is just above my knees and my thighs and torso are completely covered in this weird stretchy tube. Anyone else have this problem or have I got a weird body?
Sod it though, at least I can sit down without popping a button.

MrsSkinnyLegs · 19/06/2012 13:00

H & M overbump have worked a treat for me. And they've even stood up to my alterations from normal to skinny legs : ) The bump band is really long - granted I am a shortarse - so I just fold it in half, which gives my 19 week bump double support.

ButtonBoo · 19/06/2012 13:12

I had GAP mat jeans and they were great up until the last month. Then did the very thing I swore I wouldn't do...wore leggings! You do really lose all dignity in pregnancy!!!

Thanks guys - lots of suggestions to investigate....think some Internet shopping is imminent! :)

I like the ones that come up to your chin. Anything else just falls down, but then I have no backside so my belly is my biggest bit

I bought Next over the bump jeans with massive stretchy bit but they drive me mad. At first they were falling down all the time and I thought my bump wasn't big enough. It definitely is now I'm 36 weeks (and huge) and they still fall down. Stretchy bit tore from me pulling them up all the time so I've had to repair them loads of times too. Where the top of the denim meets the stretchy bit also digs in under bump. So not great but determined not to buy more maternity clothes at this late stage.

mssleepyhead · 01/07/2014 15:23

Just given away my over the bump jeans - far too hot in this weather and anything digging into my bump makes me feel sick. Its been Top shop Leigh under the bump jeans for my since week 20 and I'm so happy with them. Have them in black for work and blue for weekends and they're so comfy.
