Can anyone help?

I am 11,5 and just received first set of blood results through the post. There is no explanation with it but says I have

WBC 14.0 * high

Neutrophils 10.9* high

I have just been near dr google. Big mistake.

Anyone know what this all means?

Thank you

Hi :) WBC are your white cells and neutrophils are a type of white cell. Sometimes when your white cells are elevated then it can mean a urine infection. A repeat sample will reassure you if needs be. However when I did a wee sample at around 11 weeks, my white cells were high and I repeated the test and it was sent for culture (to see if they could grow bugs) and it was fine. My GP told me that raised white cells can be common in pregnancy and not to worry. If you have any symptoms then see your GP again :)

I am surprised you got these results just like that without explanation!!

poss a bit of infection somewhere, all ok and easily treatable. Doesnt mean anything bad Smile
Also these are not wildy elevated.
Do you have any infection anywhere that you know of?

Hmmmmm. For some reason I assumed that was a urine sample!!

What nosleep said is right....ignore me, I am obviously just reading wrong things!!

Thank you. No, no infection as far as I know. Just major panic! Thank you for your advice.

Ahhh, wcc etc would prob be raised like this for something simple like a cold...but it is normal to have increased infection markers in pregancy, soemtimes for no reason at all Smile

Not sure about the second result but my early bloods came back with elevated WBC, I was retested a week later & all was normal.
No real explanation but the GP insisted they were retaken just to be sure there was no underlying infection.

Fingers crossed all is ok for you too.
