More than a bit worried. Pregnant?

I am v worried. I have four gorgeous children, my youngest is 15 months and I have been breastfeeding him since birth. I have had no periods yet - which is usual for me after giving birth. I really don't want any more children! My career is flourishing and having yet another baby would put it on hold, and we just don't have any more space.

I had unprotected sex 2 wks ago tonight assuming, rather sillily (!), that i was unlikely to get pregnant. Yesterday i thought my periods were restarting at last - but it seems not: the sum total of it is some spotting (light brown), yesterday and a little again today. I'm wondering if this is implantation bleeding which I don't think i've ever had before - or if i have, i didn't recognise it. COuld it be hormones getting my body prepared for menstruation again?

Any thoughts .....

Could it just be your AF starting slowly? Since having my first DC I now get brown spotting for a couple of days before it starts properly, so perhaps it is that. Is more common than i thought from what i've read too, so maybe don't panic just yet...

Well theres a good chance you are...

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 18/06/2012 13:09

My thoughts are, buy a pregnancy test Wink

PermaShattered · 18/06/2012 13:19

yes yes, i know, a pregnancy test would prob give the answer - unless too early yet?? I'm also a bit burying my head in the sand.

Trying not to think about it, but v scared! 5 children is just tooo many :-( Maybe I'll get a test tomorrow. Or pretend it's not happening.

Done test - negative! So relieved. But will do another next week to be sure. Presumably it's my body getting back to normal. Littlekitty4 - how about you!?

Pleased for you Perma Smile

and so envious you can go for 15 months without a period - i only managed 6 months despite exclusively BF !

PermaShattered · 20/06/2012 21:23

Yep, I'm lucky! Still haven't started periods though - i must do another test next week to be sure. I'll come back sobbing if it's positive!

OH help. I haven't done another test yet BUT: I have loads of clear vaginal discharge which is highly unusua for me. And it says on the internet that this is a common sign of early pregnancy. Can someone tell me if there could be an alternative explanation?!

Ovulation? In which case, be carefulGrin

PermaShattered · 26/06/2012 13:15

I've never noticed it before when I've ovulated - certainly not to this degree that i've had to put a pad on. Is that normal if it's ovulation?

I have to say that after breast feeding my 3 I had lots too just when my hormones were gearing up. My periods didn't come back for between 12 and 18 months with all of them and it seemed to take my body ages to figure it all out.
